I updated my gallery, and I am going to utilize it more as censorship on other sites are cracking down. I know some people think I’m pulling magic tricks out of hats, but I think this kind of skill will be essential to artists like me who are exercising options on how to reach people without being impeded. I do enjoy picking and posting things I enjoyed making for commissioners, other art I didn’t post just because. Some things I don’t post, and I know in this attention economy, artists feel they have to share everything they make, but I think it’s getting pointless to do so on platforms that don’t even broadcast you’re there while so much ragebait is happening around you.

I’d rather the people who follow me for me and the work I do go to a dedicated space to see that, instead of having a battle of the senses everytime they are on their way to seeing your post. It’s not anyone’s fault things are going the way they are, but I am going to be cataloguing my stuff in a place where I know own it, and it’s turning out to be the smartest decision I’ve ever made. I encourage folks to check in or look out for a post on soc med about my “gallery update”.

Why Site Ownership Matters

There used to be a time artists online had their own websites, and would set it up very much like how I’m doing now. No two sites were the same, and there was a lot of thought and personality put behind them. There was so much individuality, expression, people weren’t worried about views, just about what was in front of them. I think people were much happier creating while embracing the unknown. It could have been people posting the naughtiest, unfiltered shit you’ve ever seen in fandom. It was truly a time to be alive.

Now we have puritan 2.0 zombies high off their superiority complex targeting royalty because nobody in their inner circle told them how to behave. It’s shitty, and it needs to be addressed.

Nothing says “fuck you” like breaking off to blaze your own trail, making your own stuff, and creating better opportunities while you do it. The reality is creators are going to have to choose to kill themselves over a few likes and share just to be buried in the algorithm, or find peace in creating and focusing on people who want to be there for you and your work. The ones that do it for the love of the game over views will be left standing in an Attention economy that has no end.

The sites I launched could not be possible without my supporters. I hope to use my sites more, connect with fans of my work and build something fun while showcasing my best talents in a space built for my community and I. 2026 is already looking up!
